Police Dispatcher

Plainfield Police Dispatchers are emergency communications professionals who are called upon to ensure the successful transmission of information from callers in distress to responding police personnel.  They must provide accurate and timely information to the officers and dispatch the appropriate personnel to incidents and emergencies.  Dispatchers are the lifeline of the Police Officers, as their instructions and information give them direction regarding how to proceed with the incident or emergency.  The Plainfield Police Department utilizes both part-time and full-time dispatchers.  They must pass an extensive background investigation and complete all required trainings.
